Why you should read Mark Lawrence’s books
Prince of Thorns is a book that splits its readership in two very distinct groups. One like it, because it is a great book, the others read a couple pages and give it 1 star. For me, there was a moment when I nearly decided to stop reading and throw it out of the window. The protagonist isn’t someone you want to empathize with: killing peasants, raping, burning down a whole village and an overall destructive personality. I seriously hated him and asked myself: Why would I read a book about such an asshole?
